Shannons Supercar Showdown
We are excited to support the Shannons Supercar Showdown airing on Sundays at 5pm on 7mate. Make sure you take note of the GoPro Camera HD footage as they have been used for the in car and on car footage. All contestants as well as the Kelly Racing team have been fitted with Sabelt Custom Race Suits. These suits are lightweight, breathable and are a must for endurance racing.
Kelly Racing has opened its doors to allow TV cameras behind the scenes of what really makes a V8 Supercar team tick. From an initial cast of 10 contestants, all young and up and-coming racing drivers, a series of eliminations will determine the winner of one of the most significant prizes ever offered in motorsport - to race at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 this October. The winner will race alongside the show's host, TV personality Grant Denyer, in the Shannons-Mars Racing entry at Mount Panorama, a fifth entry in "The Great Race" for Kelly Racing.
As well as unearthing a future V8 Superstar, Shannons Supercar Showdown joins Kelly Racing as Rick and Todd kelly, Greg Murphy and David Reynolds battle it out in the 2011 V8 Supercars Championship. Race fans will meet the people behind the scenes critical to the success of a motorsport race team from engineers and mechanics to designers, dieticians and personal trainers.
Local and international hopefuls, including three female drivers, will also descend on Kelly Racing headquarters to take part in this unique event. Ten of the hottest up-and-coming drivers from Australia and across the globe will compete for the coveted spot, as they eat, sleep and train with Kelly Racing and learn everything there is to know about becoming a champion driver.
Over the series they will be eliminated one by one until only the best of the best is left standing.
The drama of V8 Supercars racing at the elite level through the eyes of Rick and Todd Kelly will provide the ultimate contrast to our young hopefuls who are embarking on their own race of a lifetime to get a foot in the door of a V8 Supercar team.

BSM Sport would like to congratulate Rick and Todd on their recent results in New Zealand and look forward to seeing more podium finishes from them during the rest of the season.
We are proud to be associated with the entire Kelly Racing team and thank them for their ongoing support. To celebrate their recent success we are having a sale on selected Sabelt apparel.
"I have worn most of the race suits out there in my career, without a doubt these Sabelt suits are clearly the best" Rick Kelly.
Race Report:
Rick Kelly won the opening race of the ITM400 in Hamilton, New Zealand on the weekend. Rick led Craig Lowndes to take his 10th victory of his career and his 1st ever race win for Kelly Racing.
Todd Kelly added sweetness to the team’s victory placing 3rd in his #7 Jack Daniels Commodore despite not having a working windscreen wiper for the last 17 laps in treacherous race conditions.
Rick started in 3rd place in his #15 Jack Daniels Commodore on the grid and after a fast start was running in 1st by the first corner. He had a 10 second lead in the closing stages but this advantage was lost after the safety car was called in lap 53. Rick held his nerve with Lowndes right behind him to claim his long awaited victory for the Kelly Racing Team.
Todd was in 2nd as the safety car was called however was passed by Lowndes and Mark Winterbottom with 5 laps remaining. Todd managed to hold out Winterbottom to hold onto the final place on the podium with a spectacular passing with 2 laps remaining.
Rick has moved up to 4th on the 2011 V8 Supercar Championship standings after 5 races with Todd in 16th place.
